- convincing with arguments: related to the listener, logical and short
- holding a lecture: preparation, construction and implementation
- dealing with disturbances and difficult situations
The workshop is not a seminar to train applications. However, you can still train here for the situations that concern your own positioning.
Objectives
- You will be able to present yourself – and the content you want to convey – in a convincing and self-assured manner.
- You can use your verbal language, your body-language, and your expertise in everyday scientific life efficiently for presentation.
- You can handle problems and disturbances well.
- You will have increased your own assertiveness and power of persuasion and manage to make a listener reflect and actively engage with the presented material.
- You build an appropriate relationship with the audience.
- You can deal confidently and professionally with occurring crashes, with bad luck, and with breakdowns.
- In special situations, such as application procedures and trial lectures, you will also leave a very good impression and convince both professionally and communicatively.
Methods
Interactive work, short theoretical input, practical exercises, brief presentations, video feedback with evaluation by trainer and participants.
Requirements
Full participation on both days. On the second day please bring an idea for a 5-minute presentation of your choosing (if necessary with appropriate slides, e.g. PowerPoint).
