Successfully acquiring your own third-party funding is becoming increasingly important for your academic career. Besides funding your own position and/or your own research projects, it also helps to build up an individual track record to develop your academic CV in line with your own career goals. The national and international funding landscape offers various opportunities and formats for early career researchers, which are very extensive and sometimes quite complex. This event offers all early career researchers at the University of Freiburg an overview of funding opportunities for their own research in Germany and abroad.

Objectives

The participants will

• receive an overview of the national funding landscape
• get to know the most important third-party funding providers and their funding programmes
• know which funding programme logic is behind which third-party funding programme
• find out which funding programmes might be suitable for their own research project
• gain an insight into funding opportunities for their own position according to the respective career phase
• get an overview of mobility funding opportunities
• learn how to systematically research funding opportunities and use different sources of information
• learn about the services offered by the University of Freiburg for researching funding opportunities and submitting applications
